What is Condensation?

Condensation is the formation of moisture that appears on the inside surface of a Window, Patio Door or Entrance Door. It often occurs in winter when the warm air inside the house is a higher temperature than the colder air outside. The higher the moisture levels in the air inside the house, or the colder the temperatures outside, the heavier the condensation.

Condensation occurs first around the edge of the glass unit, where surface temperature are coldest. If a standard “aluminum” spacer exists, condensation will form on the glass edge when temperatures fall, even if there is minimal humidity indoors.
